Basalt

Basalt (they/octo/he) is the co-captain of Mesopelagic. A dapple one-trick that loves wiper, Basalt is one of the founding members. This creature is rarely found during daytime, only crawling from his shelter during the night. Don't be fooled, though. His bark is scarier than his bite.

His chosen shark is Atelomycterus marmoratus, the coral catshark. He is known for his mastery of analytics: Basalt manages a spreadsheet for Mesopelagic's entire win/loss history, a database of every team Mesopelagic has interacted with, an organization system for team resources, and so much more. If you want it, Basalt probably doesn't have it... but they might be able to make it for you.

Basalt loves playing aggressively, and is often seen pairing up with Train to cause physical and emotional damage to the enemy team.

Basalt is the only member of the team who dislocated a joint during a tournament and hopefully it stays that way (it won't).
